Araksa Tea Garden
Araksa Tea Garden is located on a scenic, evergreen hill in the Mae Tang District in Chiangmai, Thailand. It specializes in producing high quality Assam tea.
The tea garden covers 111 acres and consists of tea plants that range from 40 to 70 years old. The site is one of the oldest tea gardens in Thailand. In 1941, the tea garden began planting approximately 50 acres of Assam tea plants. The garden was then sold and left untouched for over 15 years until its new ownership in 2014.
Left undisturbed for many years, the tea plants have not been exposed to chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Today they are producing excellent organic tea leaves.
Upon arrival at the tea garden, you will be greeted by our staff, who will explain the different processes and methods used to cultivate young tea plants.
After that, our resident plucker will lead you to the tea bushes where she will show you how to pluck tea leaves. You are welcome to join her (We will give you a bamboo basket to carry during the tea plucking activity).
At the roasting station, we will demonstrate the art of making tea by hand from kneading to roasting tea leaves. When the roasting is done, enjoy a cup of tea with delicious Thai snack.
