CHIANG MAI
Chiang Mai, which literally means “new city”, was indeed founded more than 720 years ago. Once known as the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, it is nowadays the most popular tourist destination in northern Thailand. It is a land of rolling mountains and colorful hill tribes, a gateway for adventure travel and a center of art and crafts. Despite being a tourist destination, it exudes a calm and laid-back atmosphere. It has a vast variety of things to see and things to do from hill tribe culture and hiking to classic northern Thai temples and wonderful local cuisine.

Located in the northernmost province of Thailand, Chiang Rai province is a mountainous region with rivers and jungles. The province is filled with cultural and natural wonders, including the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Burma come together. It is home to many hill-tribe villages nestled on forested, mist-shrouded mountains and local temples set along a picturesque riverbank of the Mekong river.

Lisu Lodge offers tour packages that include cultural and adventure experiences around a hill tribe village. Located in Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, the lodge is only a 50 minute drive from Chiang Mai city. Named after the Lisu hill tribe village that is found near the lodge, our lodge is also part of a community-based project that aims to conserve the natural heritage of the hill tribes in Chiang Mai.

The Lanjia, or ‘peaceful’ in Hmong language, is an eco-friendly community-based lodge nestled high on a hill in Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand. Contributions from your stay will be used on community projects that will improve the local hill tribe people’s living conditions.
